My beautiful dog has become very sick this week. He needs immediate medical attention and I’m unfortunately in a bad financial situation. I am reaching out to my friends, family, and the public for a helping hand. I never do this and am extremely independent, but my dog is in a bad place. He needs all the help he could get. I will be eternally grateful.
As my policy professor said one day, the system has been perfected; it only benefits one group of people.
I say, this country better get it together and fight for what is right.
I am beyond ecstatic that this issue is starting to leak out to mainstream media. This is just a small step towards progress and justice, BUT I must celebrate for a moment. This is an extremely dangerous problem that affects every single person in the United States (regardless of your diet). Please take a moment to read this. It’s extremely informative.
Tried out this recipe I found last week. It is out of this world flavorful!!! I added kale to the mix. Seriously, I add kale to everything, it makes everything taste so much better!! Would have had avocado but my avocados weren’t ripe enough by the time I made this.
Also I want to add that you should bake the patties, not pan fry them in olive oil. I found that the patties would break up in the pan. Besides the fact that it’s much healthier to bake things.
Great to eat the day of or the day after!

You don’t have to drink cow’s milk for your cereal, coffee, or baked goods! There are so many substitutes out there that are equally as tasty. No animals have to harmed in the process of feeding ourselves. I personally go with rice milk when having my bowl of cheerios and fruit :) Coconut milk is amazing in curry dishes! Chocolate almond milk is out of this world good!
Amy Goodman sits down with Melanie Warner, food industry journalist, and discusses how to identify good soy versus bad soy, the added ingredients to make processed food (Subway sandwiches), and how one 15 year old petitioned against Gatorade’s flame retardant element (and succeeded!).
Tomorrow is the big day! Social work, here I come!
It’s finally happening…tomorrow, be there or be square. If do you miss it, look out for future screenings!
It’s International Women’s Day. Did you know it was only 100 years ago that police were beating women in the street who were fighting for their right to vote?
This is British Suffragist Ada Wright in 1910 being assaulted by local London police. Never forget how far we’ve come, and how far we have to go.
Change is not a bad thing. We would not be where we are today, if we didn’t fight for what we believe in. Speak your mind…
